"Light and Sound - Strokes" takes the strokes of calligraphy as the axis, and in the field of computer art, the programming algorithm drives the unification of 3D digital ink visualization and digital music generation process. The work records a series of specific data from the wrist, the body and the light source, in order to explore the "from me to the object, from the object to me" state of empathy that the sound and color generated by the data correspond to the "flesh and blood" of the calligraphic strokes. In calligraphy, brush gesture implies the potential of the body, which is not only the trajectory of the body and the brush, but also the manifestation of the writer's body modality and essence. The movement of the body, the gesture of the brush, and the process of creation need to be integrated. The body's consciousness and will influence the discourse and aesthetics of writing. What kind of "image" can the technical agency of "writing" be characterized as? --This is the core of this project. The project starts from the traditional Chinese calligraphic action, where the body is retransmitted through the brush gesture to the spatio-temporal relationship between ink and paper, i.e. "the brush gesture transmitted by the body" and "the light source perceived by the machine", which is extended by the current technology (data transmission, algorithmic The work focuses on the technical analysis of the writing movements. The work focuses on the technical analysis of writing movements and the mapping process from pen gesture to light and sound, showing how to establish the connection between pen gesture and "light and sound" with the data obtained from motion capture. The reflection and analysis of visual images and the generation of visual images allow the translation of the indefinable gestures produced by human writing into data models and make it possible to understand the specific movements, rhythms and motions of the gestures.
《光音·笔势》以书法之笔势为轴,在计算机艺术领域,通过编程算法带动3D数字水墨可视化与数字音乐生成过程的合一。作品记录了一系列自手腕、身体到光源的特定数据,以此去反向探索数据生成的音与色对应到书法笔势的“筋骨血肉”而触达的“由我及物、由物及我”移情状态。在书法中,笔势意味着身体的势,笔势不仅是身体和执笔的运动轨迹,还是书写者身体模态和精气神韵的彰显。身体的动作、运笔的姿态与创作的过程需得合成一体。身体的意识、意志影响着书写的话语和美学。技术的代理性“书写”究竟可以表征为何种“象”?——这便是这个项目的研究核心。该项目从中国传统书法行动中起意,将身体通过笔势再传达到水墨与纸张之间的时空关系,即“身体传递出的笔势”和“机器感知到的光源”,通过当下的科技延伸(数据的传导,算法的处理),最后以光、音、色为表征。作品重点关注在书写动作技术分析以及从笔势到光影与声音的映射过程,展示了如何以动作捕捉中获取的数据去建立起笔势和“光音”之间的联系。经由对可视图像和生成可视图像的反照性思考与分析,使得人在书写过程中产生的不可话约的笔势转译为数据模型,并使得对笔势的特定动作与韵律、律动的理解成为可能。
