Project Briefing: Organised by Shenzhen Graphic Design Association (SGDA), FounderType, Shenzhen Library, the exhibition of character design "Motion and Graphic Typography - 2023 Typocology Design Exhibition" explored the boundaries of typography. Under the theme of "Motion and Graphic Typography", it demonstrated the role of motion and graphic types in contemporary visual communication, and to actively advocate an open and diverse ecosystem of Chinese characters. This was the visual of the exhibition. - Creation Description: The creative concept of the exhibition visual originated from the handwriting input method of mobiles and other screen devices, and the handwriting input process of the exhibition theme "Motion and Graphic Typography" was presented in the main motion poster. The process of "handwriting input" was dynamic, a writing process that tended to be close to the correct text result, and there would be changes in the process of associating words, which was very intuitive to present and express the characteristics of Chinese characters as pictograms. It was a very intuitive presentation and expression of the characteristics of Chinese characters as "pictograms". The screen output was relatively static, being the capture and translation of handwritten words by a machine, and the output was also precise, with preset and specific character spacing and line spacing, etc. The trajectory of handwriting on a screen was staccato and rustic compared to traditional paper media. In order to ensure the authenticity of contemporary handwriting on screen, we invited a child, Jiayu Ou (6 years old), who had just learnt how to write, to create text for the exhibition visuals, by writing with her fingers on the iPad to obtain handwriting. Taking the type as a starting point, the handwriting input and screen output corresponded to the expression of motion and static", showing the beauty of pictograms of Chinese characters and the simplicity and fun of contemporary screen handwriting.

 

项目简介: 这是一场由深圳市平面设计协会(SGDA)、方正字库、深圳图书馆联合主办的文字设计展。展览以“动静字如”为主题,旨在探究字体设计的界限,展示动态和静态字体在当代视觉传达中的作用,并积极倡导开放、多元的汉字生态系统。这是我们为其打造的展览视觉形象。 - 创意说明: 创意源于手机等屏显终端的“手写输入法”,将展览主题“动静字如”四字的手写输入过程呈现在主形象动态海报中。“手写输入”的过程是动态的,趋近于正确文字结果的书写过程中会有变化的“手写象形联想词”,直观地呈现和表达汉字作为“象形文字”的特点。“屏显输出”的过程相对而言是静态的,是机器对于手写字的捕捉与转译,屏显字库字体输出的排印结果也是精密的,有预设且特定的字间距与行距等。 人为的“手写”在“屏显终端”的书写轨迹相对于传统“纸质媒介”而言是顿挫且质朴的,为了保证“当代屏显书写”的真实性,我们邀请到刚刚学会写字的区嘉瑜(6岁)小朋友为本次展览视觉进行文字书写创作,通过在iPad上用手指头进行书写来得到手写体。 从文字出发,通过“手写输入”与“屏显输出”来对应表达“动”与“静”,展现汉字的“象形”之美与当代屏显书写的质朴趣味。
